6b – Animals on SOLVIVA Farm

PLEASE NOTE:  All Pages may be frequently updated and improved.

Many animals were fully integrated in the SOLVIVA greenhouse and outdoor pastures, resulting tremendous benefits, including heat, co2, manure compost, eggs, meat, angora, wool, pasture maintenance (cutting, fertilizing, removal and prevention of poison ivy, brambles etc). And also good company, love, fun, interspecies communication. All this in return for relatively little work –  unless the fences or gates break –  then it is suddenly a LOT of work. And the cost of sheep feed can be kept way down with rotational grazing and keeping a good pasture/animals ratio to prevent overgrazing. And, to reduce chicken feed: all plant wastes, plus frequent flats of sprouted seeds and grasses, as well as redworms grown in the compost.
